Coming of age day

  Finally I become an adult last week! On January 12^th was coming of age day. I’m still 19 years old now, but I’m an adult in my heart. Actually, I was not looking forward this ceremony but it was very fun and memorable.

  At first, I was planning to wear my mother’s Kimono because my mother said it was expensive at that time and I agreed it. My mother’s one was designed by Guy Laroche, a famous fashion designer, and there is only one in the world. But it was little bit quiet design for the ceremony, so we planned to change the Obi to gaudy one. But at the place searching Obi, we changed our mind that wearing my mother’s one because no one Kimono was there as quiet design as my mother’s. So we concluded buy the new one. But it was early December, so there were few time to choose. Miraculously, we found a great Internet site. The shop is in Kyoto, so we were afraid to chose without seeing real one, but there was no way another. We chose red Kimono and purple Obi, and we amazed it arrived during December with making over my order.

   After those moments I could reach Coming of age day! I could many friends and we took many picture. Especially it was very fun to take pictures at Kumamoto Castle. I went there with my two best friends. There were many foreign tourists, and we were asked to take picture with the tourists. Maybe we took about ten to fifteen tourist groups. I felt it was honor and I was glad every tourist said to us “congratulation,” and “beautiful!” We could make never forgettable memory.

  In the evening, an alumni association of junior high school was held. Actually I didn’t want to go there because I took an examination to enter the school and miraculously passed, so my junior high school’s level was very high. All of them passed great university, including Tokyo University and Kyoto University. I thought everyone is good at studying still now, so they must be surprise at me, but everyone was good for me and I really enjoyed the time. I thought it was relief to attend. We also enjoyed taking picture and chatting. This Coming of age day will never forgettable for me.

The izakaya my family love

I like “Sakura”, where places near my house. It’s izakaya and all the dishes are very delicious. I always go there with my family and we’ve haunted there for over ten years. We always eat pizza, pasta, yakitori, teppan-yaki, and radish salad. We can take out their dishes, so sometimes we eat their delicious dished in our house when my mother is busy.

My favorite mountain which stands near my house

I like Mt. Dokkosan. It’s not high, so we can climb easily. There is near my house and it adjoins the elementary school where I went. So we went there many times in school days and there was even marathon which running on Mt. Dokkosan. On that mountain, we can see over near I’m living. In spring, there are many cherry blossoms and it’s beautiful. In fall, there gets autumn colors. On the top of mountain, there is a hill, so we can enjoy grass skiing. I went there with my friend when I was child, so I have many memories of there.

My room

I love my room. When I have free time, I always spend times in my room. I always lie down on my bed and I often listen music, use note PC, read magazines, and sleep on there. My room is not wide, but I can relax. When I invite my friends to my room, they always say "I feel like now." I have the loft in my room and it's small but I like sitting on loft. I think I like alone, so I like my room where I can be alone.

Free-writing: My Language Skills

Ten years ago, I was nine years old. I has started learning English when I was three years old at Kumon, so I studied the level of junior high school English at that time. But I couldn't speak English because I only learned grammar of English. In addition, I didn't like English and I wanted back home early, so I thought only about how I finished early. I always finished with no understanding. So I always solve questions with intuition, and my English skill was not good.
Five years ago, I was fourteen years old. In that time, I had started learning English conversation. And the teacher let me to take the English proficiency examination, I had Pre-Second grade. I could speak English but it was a little.

I'm in English department now and I use English everyday because we have a lot of English homework. I think my English ability is getting better and I can make sure that from my grown scores of TOEIC and TOEFL exams. But I'm still not good at English conversation now. University Life

I have many friends from same high school in this university because I graduated from G. High School. In this university, there are about 40 students from G. High School in same grade, so we spend times in university together. For example, we eating lunch, study at library, and go to classes together. Though many of these friends were not friends since high school, so we became friend after we entered in this university. When I was in high school, I’d never talked with the friends who always together in university. Time didn’t pass so much after we became friend though we are close. For example, we hang out together, watch movie, go to dinner, and so on. This is strange but I may feel we are the member.

Conversely, there are few friends who graduated from other high school because we are always together and we are same department. Another reason is I’m not belonging to club activity. I want more friends in different department but I need only really friends. Because I want to study and I don’t want to waste times.

This year, we have a lot of homework. I always do EnglishCentral at home. My family may think I'm strange because I always speak to computer. That is speaking class' homework, but we also have listening, writing and reading class' homework, too. We must do blogging, typing, listening and write dictation every week. Compare with last year, we have more homework, but it is good for growing English skill. Actually, I think my English is getting better than last year. But still I’m not good at speaking. When I want to tell something in English though, I need little time for translate to English in my brain. I’ll study to improve this in this school. I want to try more study with my friends and teachers.
