Essay 1-01a: Letter to My Host Family

First of all, I would like to introduce myself. I'm a freshman at KGU and my major is English. I'm 19 years old. I like music. I like listening to music, playing the piano, and dancing. In particular, I like K-POP from when I was a junior high school student, so I can dance to some of the songs. I like drawing pictures, so I want to draw the beautiful view in your country. These days, I’m interested in cooking, so I want to learn American home cooking. If there is a chance, I want to attend a home party because I want to study American social intercourse.

And I have some questions. The first one; is there anything you want me to bring from Japan? I do not mind anything, including food. Conversely, is there something that I should bring there? I'm not sure what is needed because this time is the first time studying abroad as I wrote before.

Next, please tell me about your family. I want to know how is your family constitution, how old you are, how should I call you, or something. In this connection, we are five in my family, my father, my mother, my younger sister, my dog, and me.

Do you have any pets? I like animals, so I'm glad if you have any pets. I would like to buy something as a present to each of you, so I want to know. And then, is there anywhere to recommend me to do near your house? Though I can search on the Internet, I want to hear the actual voice of the local people. I want to make a plan when I stay there based on it at that. Please send me an email with the answer to these questions. I'm really looking forward to go and see you.

Lastly, I may cause trouble for you in the Homestay, but I hope for your kindness. See you soon!!
